Throughout life we go through tremendous life transitions that can affect us in a variety of ways. These transitions may find us feeling vulnerable, alone, depressed, anxious, and oftentimes hopeless. I am passionate about creating a safe space for my clients to embrace their true thoughts and feelings, void of judgements, as they heal, grow, and welcome self-love.
My approach to providing evidence-based counseling stems from a strong foundation of person-centered care, cultural humility, and building authentic relationships with my clients that allows room for positive change. I am heavily strength-based, meaning I try to help you find your personal strengths and skills, so you can learn to manage life's many challenges well. I draw ideas and techniques from Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavior therapy, and Solution-Focused therapy.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from Hampton University and a Master of Social Work from Howard University School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, certified to practice counseling in Washington D.C. and Maryland.
If you are looking for someone who is willing to help you grow and achieve your personal goals, please don't hesitate to reach out. Look forward to starting this journey with you!
